Matra (Vowel Sign): ु

When उ (u) attaches to a consonant, it uses the matra ु — a small hook written below the consonant.

Examples on different consonants:
- क + ु = कु ('ku')
- प + ु = पु ('pu')
- स + ु = सु ('su')

Words using ु:
- कुत्ता ('kutta') — Dog
- पुस्तक ('pustak') — Book
- सुनो ('suno') — Listen
- गुलाब ('gulab') — Rose
